MAY 15, 2009 – A Ventura County teenager suffered a serious head injury when he fell off the hood of his friend’s moving car in the parking lot of the Pacific View Mall Thursday evening, police reported. The accident happened just after 7:00 p.m. at the mall located at 333 South Mills road in Ventura.
The 17-year-old Oxnard boy, whose name was not released, was riding on top of a car driving by a 16-year-old Oxnard boy, when he fell off. The boy struck his head on the pavement and suffered critical injuries. His friends took him to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, where he was listed in critical condition. The teenager driver, whose name was not released, was cited for reckless driving and released to his parents.
