Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Collision Monday Night in Stockton

JULY 1, 2009 – A 22-year-old man suffered severe head trauma and multiple broken bones after colliding with a moving vehicle and then a parked car in a residential neighborhood, authorities said. The motorcyclist was riding westbound on Universal Drive about 7:25 p.m. when he hit a car that was preparing to turn left onto Bernal Drive, according to the Stockton Police Department. The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle and head-on into a parked car, authorities said. Witnesses told police the man had been riding a wheelie shortly before the collision. He was transported to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The San Joaquin Police Department is investigating the accident.
