Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray Recalled Over Bacteria Concerns

NOVEMBER 30, 2009 – CNN has reported Proctor & Gample announced a voluntary recall of Vicks Sinex Nasal Spray sold in the United States, Britain and Germany after realizing it contained bacteria.

Although no reports of illness related to the bacteria have been made, the nasal spray could cause serious infections in patients with already weakened immune systems or those with chronic lung conditions like cystic fibrosis.

In the United States, the recalled product is Vicks Sinex Vapospray 12-hour Decongestant Ultra Fine Mist with lot number 9239028831. The lot number can be found on both the outer carton and the bottle. More information can be found on Proctor & Gamble’s website.
