Two Killed, One Injured in Head-On Crash Sunday Night Near Reedley

MARCH 30, 2010 – Two people were killed Sunday night in an accident in Fresno County near Reedley, the California Highway Patrol reported. The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. March 28, 2010, near the intersection of Adams Avenue and Alta Avenue. The two drivers killed in the collision were identified as Juan Leon, age not known, of Reedly, and Ramon Garza, 68, of Orange Cove. Juan Leon was driving a 1991 Buick Regal west on Adams Avenue, and Ramon Garza was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry eastbound on the same road. Authorities believe that Leon drifted into eastbound lanes, causing the head-on collision. The cause of the northern California car accident remains under investigation, and it is not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash. A passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
